Sulphur Springs is a city in, and the county seat of, Hopkins County, Texas,United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 15,449. Sulphur Springs is located along the western edge of Northeast Texas. Sulphur Springs was named so because when the area was first settled, springs of sulfurous water were abundant.
Sulphur Springs has a large selection of retail stores, including specialty clothing, gift boutiques, jewelry and factory outlet malls; a great selection of restaurants, including full-service, locally owned locations, cafeterias, and a number of nationally known fast food establishments.
Around the Square, and scattered throughout the town, are restaurants and specialty shops offering the best downtown experience in Texas.
